Kaş sits on the site of the ancient Lycian city of Antiphellos. A well-preserved Hellenistic theatre sits just above the town, and several Lycian rock tombs and sarcophagi are found scattered throughout the streets.
A short boat trip from Kaş leads to the Kekova Island, where a sunken ancient city lies just below the surface of the sea. Visitors can view the ruins through glass-bottomed boats or by snorkelling.
